This will be the first weekend that we have left Posh and Pecks on their own. We have although arranged for our friends Mark and Shelley to come round to check on them.

We will ensure that the Eglu door is opened also that the water and food is topped up prior to us leaving on Saturday morning.

We have left the following instructions as its Mark and Shelley’s first time.

No need to empty the poop tray or let the hens out to free range as they will be fine over the weekend.

The girls generally put themselves to bed around 5pm so anytime after that you can lock the Eglu door.

To get access to the Eglu unlock and open the top section of chicken run. Before shutting the Eglu door check the chicken run is empty and both girls are in the Eglu.

Once the Eglu door is shut and the top section is secured open the gate near the water and food bowls and remove both. Place the food (layers pellets) in the plastic bin in the shed and empty out the water.

In the morning anytime before 9am refill the water bowl with fresh tap water and place the water and food back in the chicken run.

Then open the Eglu door. Once the chickens are out, open the egg port door at the side of the Eglu and check for any eggs. Remove any eggs if we are lucky and secure all padlocks.
