Well you wouldn’t believe it unless you heard it but its true! Chickens purr…

Whilst out in the garden today brushing away the left over snow from the decking and the patio the chickens Posh and Pecks were free ranging in the garden.

I spent a good two hours in the garden as the sun was shining and it was warmer for a change, although I doubt it’s the end of the wintry spell.

Last leaves

The girls had their usual afternoon treat and after finishing the last of leaves on our poor dwarf bamboo they decided to watch me brushing up the pieces of Aubiose that had fallen in the shed.

Posh Purring

As I looked round both chickens had hidden themselves under our other two types of bamboo, whilst they were scratching around I sat down and finished my coffee from my thermos mug.

It was then I heard the purring, it was definitely not our cats as they were both indoors. As I looked closely Posh was purring, both chickens definitely seemed very happy and content under the bamboo.

Hiding in the jungle

After approx 20 minutes of them playing their version of hide and seek I was starting to get bored. I think they were happy to spend the rest of night there so I started making a trail of mealworms back to the run.
